Dr. K. K. Khandelwal (IAS-R), Chief National Commissioner, Bharat Scouts and Guides, appointed Chairman of the Strategic Transformation Committee, Asia-Pacific Region, World Scouting

Dr. K. K. Khandelwal (IAS-R), Chief National Commissioner of the Bharat Scouts and Guides (BSG), has been appointed Chairman of the Strategic Transformation Committee under the Asia-Pacific Region (APR) of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM).
This prestigious appointment marks a proud moment for Indian Scouting, as Dr. Khandelwal will lead a key committee responsible for steering innovation, governance reform, youth empowerment, digital transformation, and sustainability across the Asia-Pacific region — the largest Scouting region in the world, with over 37 million members in 33 countries.
The Bharat Scouts and Guides, with a vibrant membership of over 6.8 million young Scouts and Guides, continues to be among the largest and most active National Scout Organizations under WOSM.
Dr. Khandelwal has served as Chief National Commissioner since 2017 and brings over five decades of Scouting experience to his new global role. His leadership has seen Indian Scouting grow in numbers, modernize its systems, and strengthen youth participation across all levels.
“This honour belongs to the entire Scouting family of India,” said Dr. Khandelwal. “It reflects the world’s confidence in our nation’s contribution to youth development and character education. I dedicate this responsibility to every Scout and Guide who keeps the flame of service alive.”
The Strategic Transformation Committee will focus on building adaptable, data-driven, and inclusive structures that keep Scouting relevant to the changing needs of youth and society.

विश्व स्काउट मूवमेंट संगठन (World Organization of the Scout Movement – WOSM) के एशिया-प्रशांत क्षेत्र की “स्ट्रैटेजिक ट्रांसफॉर्मेशन कमेटी” के अध्यक्ष के रूप में डॉ. के. के. खंडेलवाल (आईएएस-सेवानिवृत्त) की नियुक्ति भारत के लिए गर्व का विषय है।
डॉ. खंडेलवाल, जो वर्ष 2017 से भारत स्काउट्स एंड गाइड्स के मुख्य राष्ट्रीय आयुक्त हैं, को यह दायित्व उनकी पाँच दशक से अधिक की स्काउटिंग यात्रा और संगठन के प्रति समर्पण के लिए सौंपा गया है।
एशिया-प्रशांत क्षेत्र, जिसमें 33 देश और 3.7 करोड़ से अधिक स्काउट्स एवं स्वयंसेवक शामिल हैं, विश्व स्काउटिंग का सबसे बड़ा क्षेत्र है। भारत का स्काउट्स एंड गाइड्स संगठन वर्तमान में 68 लाख से अधिक सक्रिय सदस्यता के साथ इस क्षेत्र में अग्रणी भूमिका निभा रहा है।
“यह सम्मान भारतीय स्काउटिंग के प्रत्येक सदस्य का है,” डॉ. खंडेलवाल ने कहा। “यह भारत की युवाशक्ति और सेवा-भावना पर विश्व का विश्वास दर्शाता है। मैं इस दायित्व को सभी स्काउट्स और गाइड्स को समर्पित करता हूँ जो समाज में सकारात्मक परिवर्तन के लिए कार्यरत हैं।”
यह समिति एशिया-प्रशांत क्षेत्र में संगठनात्मक नवाचार, डिजिटल परिवर्तन, सुशासन, युवा सशक्तिकरण और स्थायित्व पर विशेष कार्य करेगी।
